Captive animal management: level 4

SAQUA: 48435.

· Feedback on training.

· The 1st year girls are doing very well, following instructions & completing tasks as required.

· The 1st year boys are not showing a lot of enthusiasm at the moment and will have to sharp up on their attitude.

· The ladies POE’s are up to date, on the other hand the boys are not up to date (all need to work on their taxonomy).

· a little disappointed in the boys behaviour will require interventions before disciplinary’s are considered.

· Feedback on research project.

· No progress to date.

· Presentation of assignments(s).

· Questions: 14,18,19,20 have not been completed as required.

· Handout & discussion of new assignments.

· Due to the above, we shall be covering the theory for the above questions.

· Question 18: Define carrying capacity, rotational grazing, describe the WLC available irrigation. List the plan of action in determining our carrying capacity

· Question 19: Summarise the method from the learning material & previous courses. Research how you would identify a lactating & an expectant (late) female.

· Question 21: Define reading status & dominance structures & why these are issues when capturing & transporting animal. Create a short list of how you would corral free roaming antelope at the WLc.

· Research for new assignments.

{ Ask about new 100 ha herbivore area.

{ Ask about identifying a female close to giving birth.
